Downloadable Audio Books

Have you tried downloading an audio book using the Listen Up! Vermont service? The Greensboro Free Library has been offering patrons the ability to access audio books at home for almost a year.

Downloadable audio book service allows you to access the same kind of audio titles you will find on cassette or cd at the library, except that the titles can be downloaded at home onto your computer any time of day. Transfer your audio book title to an mp3 player, and you can take the title with you anywhere, including your car. If you prefer, many titles can be burned to cd as well.

Listen Up! Vermont, offers titles for children, teens, and adults in several genres: general fiction, historical fiction, literature, mystery/thriller, science fiction/fantasy, general non-fiction, biography/autobiography, history, and foreign language instruction.

Audio books are an excellent way for commuters to make their drive time more interesting, or for parents to entertain children on long trips. Why not listen to an audio book when waiting for appointments or doing boring tasks around the house – or download a book to listen to for your trip home, even if you are in another state or country? All you need is your library card number.
